Description

This presentation introduced Apeñ Muchik, a situated linguistic-educational method developed for the recovery of the Mochica language in the Lambayeque region of northern Peru. It presents the project as an integrated initiative that brings together linguistic research, pedagogical materials, teacher training, and classroom practice.

The presentation outlined the foundations of the method, which is grounded in philological research on Mochica and designed for real educational contexts. It introduces the main components of the project, including an illustrated learning book, a teacher’s manual, a memory card game, and shared digital resources with audio support. Special attention was given to the collaborative work carried out with teachers, schools, and regional educational authorities, as well as to the practical implementation of the materials in classrooms.

Overall, the presentation reflected on language reclamation as a situated process that connects academic research with community engagement, contributing to the recovery of linguistic and cultural heritage through intercultural education.
