Description
The presentation reflected on the challenges and opportunities of reviving a dormant language in an educational setting. Drawing on the case of Mochica, it addressed both the symbolic and practical dimensions of teaching an ancestral language that no longer has native speakers. Particular emphasis was placed on my personal experience of training teachers in Lambayeque with the didactic material Apeñ Muchik – Aprendo mochica. This process not only provided educators with the tools to approach the language in the classroom, but also encouraged them to replicate the experience with their own students, thus multiplying the impact of revitalization. The talk highlighted how teacher formation can become a catalyst for community engagement and cultural recovery.| Period | 11.06.2025 |
