Exploring Sustainable Supply Chains – Learnings from Combining Panarchy and Paradox Theories

Activity: Talk or presentationOral presentation

Description

Conference paper presentation

Both paradox and panarchy theory have proven useful for explorations in sustainability and supply chains – but both are still in a nacent stage. The theories both have shortcomings that can be complemented by one another. The purpose of this research is to conceptualize how a combination of panarchy and paradox theory could contribute to enriching sustainability research in supply chains. The paper discusses the interplay of different adaptive systems' influence on each other in the quest for SSCM and enhances the understanding of the detailed tension dynamics within and between the adaptive systems.
