Presentation:Recuperación lingüística del mochica en el ámbito educativo lambayecano [Language revival in the educational context of Lambayeque]
In this talk, I shared insights from my work on recovering Mochica through educational initiatives in Lambayeque. I reflected on the challenges of reintroducing an ancestral language without native speakers into contemporary classrooms and emphasized the transformative role of schools and teachers in this process. The presentation highlighted the use of Apeñ Muchik – Aprendo mochica as a pedagogical tool, not only to teach linguistic structures and vocabulary but also to foster cultural pride and identity. Particular attention was given to the training of local teachers, who are now able to replicate the experience with their own students, multiplying the reach of the revival effort across the region.
