Ira Haavisto works as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility at Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki, Finland. She holds a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management and Social Responsibility since 2014 and acts as the director of the HUMLOG Institute. He main research interests are in development supply chains. She is particularly interested in strategy and performance in humanitarian supply chains. As a Postdoctoral research Ira is working in research projects on inter-organization learning in supply networks, innovation in public procurement, and monitoring and evaluation of emergency relief.
She has an interest in pedagogical development and in 2014 she was awarded the Hanken award for Excellence in Development of Teaching. She is teaching on masters, undergraduate, MBA and executive level. Main areas of teaching: logistics management, supply chain strategy, humanitarian logistics, and warehouse and inventory management.
In 2014 spring term Ira was a visiting project researcher at the Humanitarian response lab, at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
