Description

The project focuses on identifying and analyzing the role and the effects of the driving forces of the digital economy and electronic markets, namely the abundance of information, scarcity of atttention, increasing returns, network effects and emergence of mobile commerce solutions. The research is carried out in three industries: travel, construction, and high-tech. Beyond the business network stuctures, also network develoment and their governance is studied. The project is a three-year joint research project (2001-2004) funded through the Academy of Finland research programme LIIKE. Research partners include the Faculty of Economics and Industrial Management at the University of Oulu, the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at the University of Jyväskylä.
