Over the last twenty years there has been extensive expansion of international research in the field of gender relations in organisations. This growing body of work has been formed by a variety of influence and disciplines, including industrial sociology and the "women in management" literature. However, most of this research work has concentrated on gender relations in individual organisations and in the lower or middle management levels of the organisation. This project will examine gender relations in comparative perspective. The project is planned to start at the end of 1999.
