Project Details

Description

The project started as a seminar arranged at LSE and Finnish Institute in London, UK in 1996. Focusing on gendered aspects of welfare state restructuring, the project wanted to examine the ways in which the welfare state has been restructured over the past decade in Europe. The project has produced articles and one book which outlines the shifts in the mixed economy of welfare and describes the degree to which there has been greater decentralization moves towards a different style of public management or the introduction of market principles.
