Abstract
The analytical review of publications in the open-access online-only scientific journal “Herald of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine” (visnyk.naps.gov.ua) from its establishment at the end of 2019 to June 30, 2022 (6 issues). The review of 242 papers by topic, authors, their affiliation to research institutions, higher education institutions, and other organisations, and the number of full-text downloads and citations allows us to find out the characteristics of publication activity and efficiency of researchers and research teams of NAES of Ukraine, compliance of publications to the requests and expectations of research results’ customers. The analysis results can serve as guidelines for correcting research activity and its publication in scientific journals in the academy and subordinated research institutions for further increasing the relevance and productivity of research and experimental developments and their implementation in practice. The effectiveness of using open-access online scientific journals for monitoring their popularity and the state of research activities of research teams and individual researchers, who use the relevant journal, is confirmed by the example of the Herald of NAES of Ukraine; it is essential in the context of introducing open science and in the conditions of martial law and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
