Abstract

The monograph presents the results of a research project on the topic of “Enhancing the research capacity of Ukrainian universities in the conditions of war and post-war recovery in the context of implementing the concept of “Open Science”” (state registration № 0122U200775).
The monograph reflects the trends and mechanisms for integrating educational and research activities of universities under open science and in the context of innovative, high-tech post-war recovery of Ukraine as a strong European country; the importance of shaping and implementing policies and procedures for implementing the concept of “Open Science” in universities in order to preserve/restore the research potential of universities is substantiated;
the emphasis is placed on the need to increase the responsibility of research activities of universities, on the importance of taking into account new trends in R&D and the transformation of science, education, and research mechanisms in the context of sustainable social development paradigm. The monograph reveals the contents of the value dimensions of democratizing research in the context of implementing the concept of “Open Science”, problems of regulating the openness of research activities of universities in the 21st century, modernizing mechanisms for evaluating research activities of universities, ensuring the academic integrity in the context of implementing the concept of “Open Science”. The results of the survey "Open Science in Ukrainian higher education institutions" are elaborated, reflecting the situation of providing e-infrastructure for open science in Ukrainian universities. Methodical recommendations for modernizing mechanisms for enhancing the research capacity of Ukrainian universities in the context of implementing the concept of “Open Science” and post-war recovery of Ukraine as a strong European country are proposed.
The monograph is addressed to representatives of the university community, the entire cohort of academic and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions, academic and research organizations and institutions, experts of funding structures, the general public, as well as to civil servants of various branches and levels of government responsible for academic and technical activities and higher education in Ukraine
