Abstract

Apeñ Muchik – I Learn Mochica is more than an illustrated-coloring book: it is an innovative teaching method that offers a different way to approach the Mochica language. It combines vocabulary with the progressive introduction of grammatical structures, always in a playful and accessible format.

Richly illustrated, the book does not only teach Mochica language but also recovers cultural information and strengthens identity in Lambayeque, northern Peru. A built-in QR code connects to a dedicated website with audio recordings, ensuring accurate pronunciation and adding an interactive dimension: https://www.apenmuchik.com/

Distributed free of charge, Apeñ Muchik seeks to bring the ancestral language back into classrooms, allowing children, teachers, and communities to reconnect with their cultural heritage.
