Abstract
This paper explores the interaction of identities and institutions in organizations as a dialogic discursive interaction. We encourage the reflexive undertaking of discursive analysis as a means of better examining this relation empirically that helps build fruitful theorizations that develop our understanding of the concepts in novel and significant ways. Moving between a macro and micro level of discursive analysis as well as collecting empirical material from a variety of sources can inform researchers about both social context and texts produced in their relations allowing them to garner a richer understanding and foundation for theorizing institutions and identities.
