Abstract

The article discusses a book titled "Nordic Equality and Anti-Discrimination Laws in the Throes of Change: Legal Developments in Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Iceland." The book explores the challenges faced by Nordic countries in implementing gender equality despite their high rankings in gender equality rankings. It examines the Nordic Gender Equality Model (NGEM) and its impact on combating individual and structural inequality. The authors highlight remaining challenges such as the gender pay gap, unpaid care work, and intersectional vulnerabilities. They also discuss the weaknesses in enforcement systems and access to justice in discrimination cases. The book reveals that despite progress, there is still work to be done to achieve gender equality in the Nordic region.
