Responsible organising: Ways forward

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterScientificpeer-review

Abstract

The chapters in this interdisciplinary book have critically examined sustainability challenges that humankind faces and suggested responsible ways of organising to respond to these challenges. This final chapter takes stock of the key arguments and highlights main threads that run through the chapters. We summarise how different actors can work towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We also offer some concluding remarks on the two main concepts of the book: responsible and organising. We discuss how the authors suggest to (re)define the meaning of responsibility when organising for sustainable outcomes, as well as the different forms of transformative action in moving forward, captured under two themes: transcending business and rediscovering politics.
