The purpose of this study is to examine how families change after they have sold their family business. The main arguments are that different families will organizie their lives differently after a transfer is completed. It is also crucial to focus on the whole business family and not just the majority shareholder when transfers of family businesses are studied. The empirical part of the thesis will include case material of Finnish former business families.
