Sammanfattning
The preprint, basing on a systematic comprehension of the theoretical foundations for
increasing the research capacity of Ukrainian universities in the context of the implementation of the “Open Science” concept, reveals the major trends and basic academic approaches to solving such problems as: the general and the specific in integrating educational and research activities of universities under open science conditions; policies and procedures for implementing the “Open Science” concept in universities; theoretical grounds for improving the responsibility of the research activity of universities; the tools of “Open Science” as a mechanism for transforming the university research to achieve sustainable
development goals; democratization of scientific activity as a means for increasing the research capacity of Ukrainian universities: value dimensions; formation of legal and economic support for research activities of higher education institutions; evaluation of research activities and publishing activity of universities; development of university research infrastructure.
Analytical materials are addressed to representatives of the university community, the
whole cohort of the research and teaching staff of higher education institutions, academic,
research organizations and institutions, funding structures, the public, as well as to public
administrators of various branches and levels of government in charge of academic and technical activities and higher education in Ukraine.
