Approaches for Sustainable City Logistics Business Models – A Nordic Perspective

This study utilizes the power dimensions of resource, process, meaning, and systems power to gain a more nuanced understanding of cities roles in developing sustainable city logistics business models. The aim of the study is to better understand the role of cities and their approaches to develop sustainable business models for city logistics. The findings indicate that cities display various use of power in the context of sustainable city logistics business model development, but distance themselves from decision-making by emphasizing the role of the private sector, also suggesting a preference for nondecision-making. In the logistics context, operational and resource power were converted into systems power as infrastructure lays the groundwork for future city logistics development.
