Sammanfattning
Cross-border venture capital investments are venture capital (VC) investments made in companies located in different countries than the investor, i.e., across country borders. During the past two decades, cross-border VC investments have become increasingly common, especially in the largest investment rounds. In VC investments, the larger the VC round, the more likely it includes or is led by a foreign investor, especially when the portfolio company is located outside the United States. In this entry, we review academic research on cross-border VC investments’ drivers, characteristics, value-added, and outcomes.
