N2 - This chapter focuses on global risks for society, economy, and the supply chains that are critical for business operations and human lives. It elaborates on global risks, their relations, and the perception that we are faced with new and unknown challenges. The PMESII-PE framework – composed of Political, Military, Economic, Social, Information, Infrastructure, and Physical Environment dimensions – is used as a tool for categorising and reviewing risks. The COVID-19 pandemic is discussed as an example of how the globalised world is, or is not, able to deal with the risks and challenges it is facing.
