Sammanfattning

The chapter aims to contribute to the development of indicators for measuring university social responsibility. It argues that prior attempts lack conceptual cohesiveness and operational robustness in distinguishing the dimensions of university social responsibility and respective items. After two stages of expert evaluation, assessment of inter-coder agreement and calculation of content validity ratio, we propose a framework of eight items with 16 indicators covering organisational, social, environmental, and educational dimensions of university social responsibility. This framework could be used for continual improvement of university activities by preserving university authenticity, not immediately taking it as a standard. We also conclude with directions for further research on university social responsibility as a multidimensional construct, such as the call for the consolidation of university social responsibility measurement as well as validation of the framework through case studies in different contextual settings.
