Sammanfattning

This chapter discusses the ecosystem approach to responsibility in tackling climate change and other sustainability challenges. The alignment and orchestration of a multitude of different stakeholders is vital for transforming the existing ways of energy production and consumption in society. Focused on the structure of interdependence underlying holistic value propositions, the ecosystem construct challenges traditional strategic frames of thinking and offers a new lens to confront grand sustainability challenges that require a joint effort. The chapter presents the case of green hydrogen and raises critical issues in using the ecosystem approach to responsibility. Thinking win-win-win (i.e., multiple actors gaining benefit) requires overcoming deep-seated dominant paradigms of organising value creation as well as building practices that are based on trust, inclusion, and a shared vision of the goals for the future.
